Can I use the word cariño with my friends? or it is use only between the lover? Tell me please. Thank.

"Cariño" is not only something that you can call someone, as Saratoga mentioned, but it is also a simple noun meaning "endearment." The adjective form "cariñoso(a)" being "endearing" has more of a meaning closer to "warm," "affectionate," "caring," etc.
