A New Reference Grammar of Modern Spanish
Hello all,
Lately, I have been looking for a new grammar book to have as part of my "Spanish Reference Library". One promising book that I came across is A New Reference Grammar of Modern Spanish, and I have seen a few people on this site suggest it to people looking for reference books. The newest edition is the fifth, but I found multiple, far cheaper copies of the fourth edition. Is it worth it to buy the newest edition of the grammar book, or will an older edition do just as well?

I'm a native Spanish speaker, and same advice: don't waste your money on the 5th edition, the 4th will be wonderful. The only extra thing the 5th edition has is the New RAE Spelling and Grammar rules, which we all Spanish speakers find disgustingly awful; we still write and use grammar the old way.
If you want to save a little cash the 4th edition if wonderful!
I agree...save your money!
I have the 4th edition of A New Reference Grammar of Modern Spanish and love it! It has pretty much any topic imaginable and will be very helpful for years to come. I imagine the 5th edition is just as good as the 4th; the only thing I can see them adding would be additional explanations on more colloquial grammar. If you want to save a little cash the 4th edition if wonderful!
