Practice not being too literal # 35

Practice not being too literal # 35

As my title says, I am trying to learn to not be literal in translations, so every day I will post a saying in English and ask for suggestions as to how to convey the thought in Spanish. At the end of the day, I will pick the answer that I think most accurately reflects the idea, and I will choose it as best answer for 20 points to the respondent.

Today's phrase is, "a slip of the tongue."

Good luck and have fun!

Hablé de más o se me escapó sin querer is how we say it in Spanish.

A la vez hablado, al instante se arrepintió.

Once spoken, instantly regretted.

Del dicho al hecho hay mucho trecho , es a decir que lo de hablar es más fácil que lo de hacer.

OK, not quite what you want, but my only suggestion , today.

Cuando dices la verdad en momentos inapropriados. Para politicos, es conocido como "misspoke".
