Caefuego is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences. There are many native English speakers here; most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Please correct your posts according to Caefuego's suggestions.
Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. Then the Word of the Day winner will be chosen.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Have fun experimenting with Spanish.

Examples:

Es siempre más divertido que aprenda los giros que la gramática; p. ej., se traduce "I'm exhausted" en "I'm shattered" en inglés coloquial, y en 'Je suis crevé' en francesa, pero sin ninguna duda son los hispanohablantes quienes tienen la versión la más gráfica. No se dice 'Estoy roto,' sino "Estoy hecho polvo." Genial.
It's always more fun to learn idioms than grammar, e.g. "I'm exhausted" translates as 'I'm shattered' in colloquial English, and 'Je suis crevé' in colloquial French, but Spanish speakers undoubtedly have the most graphic version. They don't just say 'Estoy roto', but 'Estoy hecho polvo.' Brilliant.

Un dicho común en inglés es "Las personas que vivan en casas de vidrio no deben arrojar piedras". Nunca lo he entendido. Si se reside en una casa de vidrio y ya no está rota, una piedra, arrojado o no, no va a romperlo.
A common saying in English is "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". I've never understood it. If you live in a glass house and it's not already broken, a stone, thrown or not, isn't going to break it.
