Epigram Redux

Question

"Cuando cae una estrella parece que le ha corrido un punto a la media del cielo." Please advice.

To me it should sound like,

When a star falls it appears to leave a hole in the middle of the sky.

However having read a bit about this guy who describes "greguerías" as metaphores with humour it would appear he has a different view of a star falling from the sky along with other ideas such as an "Ñ" is a N with a moustache. Maybe something like,

When a star falls It has run from a point halfway in the sky.

Who knows, and more probably only he knows.

This is the way the author wrote the Epigram. I'm not trying to improve upon it, just trying to translate it. The author is Ramon Gomez de la Serna.

I would have used the verb "dejar" instead of "correr". Also in the middle "en el medio".
