"te extraño"

Question

I know this means I miss you, but doesn't "extraño" mean strange? I just thought that was a little extraño. Can someone explain this for me please? And also, can you say to someone "Me gusta tu"? Or does that not make sense. Should I just say "Te quiero"?

'Te extraño' you can say is made of 2 parts.

Part one of course is the direct object pronoun te

Part two is the first person conjugated verb form of 'extrañar' meaning 'to miss'

So, in this instance, extraño isn't acting as the adjective, but really it is the first person singular of 'extrañar', the verb. It's a little misleading but once you get used to the fact that "extraño" is an adjective and the yo form conjugation of extrañar, it gets easier to differentiate between the two.

And for me gusta tú, you can say:

Me gustas. (You are pleasing to me)
