"fue cocido" vs. "estuvo concido"

In lesson 3.3 one of the examples is "Mi pollo frito fue cocido..." meaning' "My fried chicken was cooked...". The next example uses "fue" similarly. Shouldn't both of these 'fue's" be "estuvo's" because estar is used when talking about actions? The other examples use estar before the past participles, but they are in different tenses.

I have come across many errors in the lessons but other than that I like spanishdict and have come this far in it so I'd like to complete it. If I keep finding so many errors I may have to switch to o a different program where the examples are correct. This is why I urge everyone to report mistakes and I urge the providers to correct them. I guess there is a feedback tab somewhere. Please, PLEASE could the Spanish presented in the learn Spanish course be correct? You know who else would be interested in how many mistakes there are? The advertisers. So what do you think about this, but also please help me with the fue question because I'm not sure about that one. Thanx.

Fue cocido is correct because food does not often "estar" cocido, but it is (ser) cocido.

You should not say "el pollo está cocido" (although you could easily get away with saying that). You should say "el pollo es cocido." In the past that is "el pollo fue cocido."
