Caefuego is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences. There are many native English speakers here; most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Please correct your posts according to Caefuego's suggestions.

Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. Then the Word of the Day winner will be chosen.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Have fun experimenting with Spanish.

Examples:

1. Enterraron el ataúd un día triste y lluvioso.

  • They buried the coffin on a sad and rainy day.*

2. Si entierras las penas, nunca las podrás dejar atrás.

  • If you bury your sorrows, you'll never be able to leave them behind you.*

Rac1 will return to continue ¨La Palabra del Día¨. She is caring for some business over the next few weeks and does not have internet access.

I may be wrong but I would have used "enterraras" and "podrías", especially after beginning with "Si". - Eddy, Aug 3, 2012
Hola Eddy, I sent a message thru feedback as I got the examples from the website. I'm curious to know myself! Muchas gracias! - bandit51jd, Aug 3, 2012

Hola Ranman, does this book have something to do with treasure buried in various locations in hopes of someday funding a second War Between the States? - bandit51jd, Aug 3, 2012
Yes, Jesse James was an operative.:)) - Ranman, Aug 3, 2012
I saw some of the signs with my own eyes:)) - Ranman, Aug 3, 2012
I haven´t had a chance to read it all (http://www.thunting.com/smf/cache_hunting/jesse_james_treasure_rooms_and_sentinels_part_one-t15280.0.html;wap2=) but - bandit51jd, Aug 3, 2012
he dealt with the inventory, keeping the treasure safe. Isn´t that interesting as most of the time we think of Jesse James as the ¨bad guy¨! Good job, Ranman! - bandit51jd, Aug 3, 2012
