"Taking things slow" romantically speaking?

Hello new forum friends!

First question on the site and it is kind of awkward. I was trying to figure out if there was a special way of saying "I want us to take things slow", you know, when you meet someone and like them but don't want to start dating right away?

Any help would be appreciated!

Yo diría, "Quiero que tomemos las cosas paso a paso."

This is the most literal translation although literal doesn't mean most correct because there are many ways (as in English) to convey the idea to your significant other. Cordobesa has given most of the other great possibilities.

"Me gustaría que fuéramos... / Quiero que vayamos... / Quiero que lo nuestro vaya... / Espero que nuestra relación avance..."

I like both suggestions from DJ and Cordobesa, including "No hay prisa, ¿verdad?"
