!! Virus Alert !!
I'm no computer expert and this virus has probably been around awhile but it has tried to get me a couple of times this month on this website but it can appear on any website. A box will pop saying you have all these viruses (trojans etc.) and they will scan your computer for you. Well, they are the virus and it gets mad if you even click on the red x to make it go away. My brother's computer went completely useless be clicking on the red x. Just shut down your computer the proper way if that list of viruses pops up and your computer will be fine. I hope this helps save someone the trouble and expense my brother went through.

If anyone gets an email saying that you have a "private message" that you need to click on.
DON'T - I got one from my sister and then my computer sent a similar message to 56 people from my contact list.
And Microsoft stopped me opening Hotmail They said my Hotmail account was "probably being used by someone else" and I had to go through a security check with them to get access to my Hotmail account again.
Just delete the email with the "private message" in it if you can (I could not "junk" it) - if not close down and then run a virus scan.
Hey swampy this is a serious problem.
I'm very computer savvy and I can tell you if you see that something is already on your computer most of the time. It's definitely not from this site, I can guarantee that for Marg, sorry if that perplexes things for you. It's a "Scareware" tactic used to infect you with a spyware/ malware combo. The spyware does scouting and simple bugging work and if not treated correctly makes room for the malware to stop by and make itself at home. =]
I recommend MalwareBytes and Super Anti-Spyware as preventative measures. Trojan Remover, maybe necessary if you have ignored the issue or worse installed it's "Anti-Virus". Yes, the program is simply called "Trojan Remover" and I think the most current version is 6.8.4 (I haven't had to use it in a looong time).
Hope that helps,

Yes, I've had this one on my computer as well. Mine was called the Windows 2012 Security Virus or something of that sort. I think this one can be downloaded onto your computer via a hoverlink on advertisements. You can hover over an ad and have the virus start to download. I think most sites do not allow hoverlink ads, so this doesn't happen often, but if you get this one, don't let it sit! It starts to block access to shortcuts and application links, and you have to manually run programs. My internet browser shortcut was blocked by this virus, so I had to run it manually through "Programs." This one's a nasty one.
Thanks for the warning, Swampy!
