Today write sentences with "fall behind"

Hello everyone. I think phrasal verbs are some of the most difficult to many English learners because most of them do not have a literal translation. So I have decided to learn one or two phrasal verbs every day.

I know you can help me with that, but you also need to learn Spanish, so please write the sentence in English using the PV then try it in Spanish. Then I will correct your sentence (the Spanish sentence, of course); we will help each other out.

If you´re not sure about how to translate your sentence, just explain (in English) what your Pv means and I will help with your translation.

Today let's write sentences using the phrasal verb:

"Fall behind"

Meaning 1: To fail to do something fast enough or as fast as others or to fail to do something on time

Spanish equivalents: retrasarse, quedarse atrás or atrasarse con un pago

Examples:

I was sick last week and fell behind with my work.

Due to lack of work, Tim fell behind on his mortgage payments

I sprained my ankle while running and fell behind the pack.

Amazingly, this type of crash happens a lot, and rarely results in serious injury. - Noetol, Jul 26, 2012
... me caí y me golpeé el trasero. (I know it doesn´t have a literal translation but sounds better) - luisssito, Jul 27, 2012

She soon fell behind the leaders. /fall behind (somebody/something) to fail to keep level with somebody/something/

Ella pronto se quedó atrás de los líderes. / Quedarse atrás (alguien/algo) dejar de mantener el mismo nivel de alguien/algo /

Caundo todos estamos tratando de hacer los pagos, no hay nada peor que retrasarse.

When we are all trying to make the payments, there is nothing worse than falling behind. ?
