Hace calor – It is hot (talking about the weather)

Hace demasiado calor – It is too hot. (talking about the weather)

Ha estado demasiado calor – It has been too hot. (talking about the weather).

Está caliente. It’s hot. (talking about non weather things)

Está demasiado caliente – It’s too hot. (talking about non weather things)

Ha estado demasiado caliente – It’s been too hot. (talking about non weather things)

My choice for outside temperature would be:

Ha habido demasiado calor. It has been too hot. smile

you cant use the verb "haber" with just calor. but you can say ha habido una ola de calor - kramer12, Jul 26, 2012

I'd say "hace demasiado calor". You could also say "ha hecho demasiado calor", but that doesnt sound as natural and common to me

Both are right, and they are very natural, too. =) If you want you can also say bastante calor. - Juliss, Jul 25, 2012
