"Tu me encantas" vs "Te Amo" Puerto Ricans, please answer!

I think I understand the literal meaning. But I want to ask the cultural difference between these two love expressions ("Tu me encantas" vs "Te Amo") in Puerto Rico specifically. I know "Te Amo" means very serious romantic love. Would appreciate if Puerto Ricans could answer.

I just started dating a Puerto Rican man here in Puerto Rico. I sent him a picture of myself via text. He answered back "Tu me encantas. Do you know that?"

We have only been dating a short time, a few weeks, so I am not sure how serious this statement is. Does it mean "I am enchanted by you" "I really like you" "I love you romantically"? Would someone say "Tu me encantas" to a friend or family member, or only romantically?

Muchas Gracias!

Tu me encantas means I really like you.

Think about that: Tu me gustas < Tu me encantas < Te quiero < Te amo

I am not Puero Rican.... I'm Dominican ... but he just means to say that "I really like you, do you know that?" he doesnt mean he loves you. tu me encantas just means a strong liking.

The lady who commented before me gave you a great image example...

me gustas < me encantas < te quiero < te amo

Hope i helped. =)
