I know grandfather is "abuelo" and I know that great-grandfather is "bisabuelo" but how would you talk about my "great great great great-grandfather"?

Hi rileydye! Welcome to the Forum.

You already know:

  • abuelo = grandfather
  • bisabuelo = great-grandfather

There's one more 'level' to learn, and then they just pile up.

  • tatarabuelo = great-great-grandfather.

And then...

  • bistatarabuelo = great-great-great-grandfather.

So now what do you think? How would you say "great-great-great-great-grandfather"?

You have the right idea, but that's too many to say Great-great-great-great-grandfather. Try doing the math.

bis = (1) great

tatara = (2) greats

Try again, riley! wink
