Practice not being too literal # 25

Practice not being too literal # 25

As my title says, I am trying to learn to not be literal in translations, so every day I will post a saying in English and ask for suggestions as to how to convey the thought in Spanish. At the end of the day, I will pick the answer that I think most accurately reflects the idea, and I will choose it as best answer for 20 points to the respondent.

Today's phrase is, "That's like calling the kettle black."

Have fun! Good luck!

¡Es como el burro hablando de orejas...no seas hipócrita!

It's like the donkey talking about ears...don't be such a hypocrite!

The pot calling the kettle black. One is guilty of the very thing of which they accuse another. La viga en el propio. Uno es culpable de lo que acusan otro.

No juzgue, porque puede ser juzgado.

My attempt at "judge not, lest ye be judged".

Estás hablando mal de otras personas sin mirarse antes.

You are speaking badly about others without looking at yourself first, (ie you are not whiter than white).
