Hi and welcome to the forum.
As The Greatest says, "saber" is used for knowing facts and how to do things.
Sé nadar (I know how to swim)
¿Sabes que María está aquí? (Did you know that Maria is here?)
"Conocer" means to be familiar with someone or something.
Conozco a María (I know Maria)
¿Conoces Nueva York? (Do you know / are you familiar with New York?)

Saber is for facts or actions. Conocer is for peoples places and things.
