Caefuego is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Please correct your posts according to Caefuego's suggestions.

Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. Then the Word of the Day winner will be chosen.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Have fun experimenting with Spanish.

Examples:

1. Hay que ser una persona capaz para obtener ese trabajo.

You have to be a capable person in order to get that job.

2. Ella es capaz de decirle la verdad sólo para salirse con la suya.

She is capable of telling him the truth in order to get her way.

- xtiagox, Jul 19, 2012
Yes you´re right, in Spanish we call "anáfora" which is the word that replaces a word mentioned previously, the "anáfora" is mostly a pronoun. In this case "ellas" replaced to "things". - luisssito, Jul 20, 2012

Los perros son capaces de muchas cosas. Pueden entretener, consolar e inclusive ayudar a la gente. (I wasn't sure how to say something that would be similar to "even".)

Dogs are capable of doing many things. They can entertain, comfort, and even help people.

Hay una frase en inglaterra hoy día. Mañana capaz que llueve. No sé la razón que se usa la palabra capaz, porque no hay duda, mañana va a llover, jeje.

Nowadays there's a phrase in England, tomorrow it may rain. I don't know why they are using the word capable because tomorrow it will rain, without doubt, hehe.
