Nuts v dried fruit
If "fruto seco" is "nuts" generally (including peanuts), then how would you say "dried fruit" ? (I'm traveling to Argentina, so if there's a certain way that they say "nuts" or "dried fruit" I'd be especially interested.) I know that "nueces" is sometimes used to say "nuts," but "nueces" also specifically means "walnuts." Confusing.

Another option for dried fruit is fruta deshidratada but there is an easy way to distinguish nuts from dried fruits, frutos secos (masculine) are nuts (and can include dried fruit), but fruta seca (feminine) is just dried fruit. (smiley)

So just nuts are frutos secos but if you want to use nueces but wanted to distinguish mixed nuts from just walnuts perhaps you could say nueces mezcladas/combinadas to be clear,
