Interpretacion de texto: ¿Que es la vida?

Hola, esta es la primera pregunta que hago, y también la primera vez que escribo en español, hasta el momento he venido comentando y respondiendo preguntas en ingles (idioma en el cual seguiré escribiendo mayoritariamente, dado que como ya explique anteriormente en una de mis respuestas, yo he venido aquí a ayudarlos en español y al mismo tiempo a practicar mi ingles), bueno dejando de lado explicaciones, en esta pregunta quiero pedirles que interpretación dan del siguiente texto:

¿Qué es la vida? Un frenesí. ¿Qué es la vida? Una ilusión, una sombra, una ficción, y el mayor bien es pequeño; que toda la vida es sueño, y los sueños, sueños son.

PD (Se que en ingles es post-scriptum, sin embargo en español se dice post-data) El texto son las 6 ultimas lineas de la estrofa final del monologo de Segismundo, de la obra literaria "La vida es sueño".

The author : the 17th century Spanish playwright Pedro Calderón de la Barca. The very first Spanish poetry I ever encountered, many years before I started studying the language. It's a fragment of a monologue in the baroque play 'La vida es sueño'. Together with Lope de Vega and Tirso de Molina Calderón left his mark on the European dramatic tradition of his time.

The theme of 'Vanitas', the transient nature of life and the futility of human ambition are typical for the baroque period.

What is life? A frenzy. What is life? An illusion, a shadow, just fiction where the greatest good is something small, since life is really a dream, and dreams are only dreams.

Parece que el autor está preguntandose qué valor tiene la vida y las cosas que ocurren en la vida. Quizas él tenga una paso frenético de la vida que no le deja disfrutar mucho de los momentitos importantes y especiales que están pasando diaramente porque siempre está buscando algo grande en el futuro.

Ok es mi intento, cualquier corrección será apreciada.

An attempt at catching the vanitas motive that is so vividly present in this fragment :

What 's life? A fleeting fever. What's life? An illusion, a shadow, a fiction. And the greatest good has little value; the whole of life is but a dream, and the dreams are merely dreams.

My translation attempt: was less literal and a bit poetic--

¿Qué es la vida? Un frenesí. ¿Qué es la vida? Una ilusión, una sombra, una ficción, y el mayor bien es pequeño; que toda la vida es sueño, y los sueños, sueños son.

What is life? It's a frenzy.

What is life? It's an illusion, just a shadow, only a fiction, and the best part of life is the small things;

All of life is but a dream and dreams, only dreams they are.
