How to know when to use "le" before a verb?

How to know when to use "le" before a verb?

Por ejemplo:

A menudo le recuerdo a mi esposo que tengo siempre la razón.

* le is required before recuerdo. I just was looking for a rule as to when you must use "le" before a verbo?

If I were to say, "A menudo les recuerdo qué tengo siempre razón." Would that be correct to say: Often I remind them that I'm always right. ?? Thanks

Lesson 2.3 has a 10 minute video to really explain it well.

Here is the link: direct & indirect pronouns video: SD 2.3

grammar lesson on D & IO from SD under 'learn' on toolbar

There is another lesson there on the learn grammar under prounouns.
