Practice not being too literal # 19
As my title says, I am trying to learn to not be literal in translations, so every day I will post a saying in English and ask for suggestions as to how to convey the thought in Spanish. At the end of the day, I will pick the answer that I think most accurately reflects the idea, and I will choose it as best answer for 20 points to the respondent.
Today's phrase is "Blood is thicker than water."

Un buen amigo vale más que oro, pero las familiares no tienen precio.
Literal: La sangre es más pesada que el agua.
En español tenemos varias frases que quieren decir lo mismo:
La sangre llama a la sangre - Blood calls to blood. (annie lo escribió primero)
No se puede limpiar la sangre - Blood can´t be cleaned.
No puedes negar tu propia sangre - You can't renege of your own blood.
No se puede luchar contra los lazos de sangre. (We cannot fight against the bonds of blood).
La sangre llama.
Blood calls to blood , family bonds are the strongest when you face a crisis.
Puedo eliger sus amigos ,pero no puedo eliger su familia.
los amigos son los que vienen y que van durante la vida, pero la familia es para siempre.
Relationships within the family are stronger than any other kind. Las relaciones dentro de la familia son más fuerte que cualquier otra especie.
