Eddy is correct--you aren't using a reflexive verb here.

Mi mama me dice is a sentence with two different subjects.

A verb used reflexively has only one person doing the action to him/herself, e.,g. me baño (I bathe myself).

This is not the correct use of a refexive verb and yes you are way off.

A verb is reflexive when the subject and the object are the same,

I wash myself.

subject: I

verb: wash

object: myself

Since the subject and object are the same, the verb is reflexive.

I wash the car.

subject: I

verb: wash

object: car

Since the subject and object are different, the verb is not reflexive.

His sentence may be correct, but this is not the use of a reflexive verb. - --Mariana--, Jul 9, 2012
