Something was wrong with the PM system?

Question

Usually when you open your profile and see number 1 beside messages , of course that's indicates the number of the unread messages , what happens to me a week ago that after I read the message number( -1 )appeared instead of (0) .. really that's confusing .. I wait until a new message arrived and what happened that it turned form (-1) to 0 ...so when I have 0 message now that's mean I have one unread message .. anybody have the same problem ... and thanks in advance .

I have had the same problem for about 5 days. I have no idea why.

It shows: Messages: ( -1 unread), when I do not have any new message. Messages: (0) , when I have 1 new message. Messages: (1), when I have 2 new messages, etc.

This is why I did not notice some my private messages recently. I hope this problem will be solved soon.

That's what I call constructive criticism .. sharing the same problem that's mean we hope to get rid of it soon . SpanishDict is one of the most important sites in the( English / Spanish) learning field if not the best . I would thank everyone posts or comments here and as rac1 said lets go back to our main target . and forget about numbers , and we will adapt with the problem .

Martha told me there is a hitch when I reported it. It may have well been solved as it now returns to zero after a new message. I believe you have not missed any messages since the problem arose when you read your last and the counter did not return to zero.

Edit: Just tried it and the problem is still there.

I've had the same problem, with a -1 appearing. Also another time, I had 1 vote, a member voted me up, so I should have had 2, but they let me know that I stayed at 1.

I've sent a feedback about my situation. Besides your post here, I'd strongly suggest you send this same information in using the feedback button or this form

I think they are working with a faster server, so these problems need to be made known to them.

They are aware of the problem. They are working to correct it. All we can do now is be patient. Thanks to everyone. Let's get back to learning Spanish/English. That's what I'm going to do.

He recibido una respuesta de Martha esta mañana. Ella también tiene un -1! Ellos son conscientes de la "error" y estamos trabajando para solucionarlo. Si Rac1 ha estado lidiando con esto por una semana no es un "error" fácil de solucionar.

I received a feedback from Martha this morning. She too, has a -1! They are aware of the "bug" and are working to fix it. If Rac1 has been dealing with this for a week it's not an easy "bug" to fix.
