Is ¨I told him so.¨ translated as ¨Le dije/decía así.¨?

I know this is a proper English sentence but I'm not sure how to translate the "so". Muchas gracias!

Following the norm construction "...que sí", my first guess would be "Le dije [decía] que sí."

Obviously I'm not a native, there could be something else that is said in place of that.

I say that this is the closest to the way people talk in real life.

Ya le dije = I already told him

Ya se lo dije = I already told (it to) him.

Another common one is:

That's what I say! = ¡Eso digo yo!

I would have said,

¡Ya lo decía yo!
