Las direcciones: Katydew's Shared Class Dialogues #12

Question

Just sharing class dialogues with my SD friends. Leave a vote, answer, or a comment to let me know if this is helpful to you. As long as I know someone wants to see these, I'll keep posting them. This week, if you'd like to add vocabulary for giving directions, feel free to do so in the answer boxes. It may help future SD learners who are searching for vocabulary for giving and receiving directions.

Just a note: I am more interested in understanding conversational Spanish and trying to understand what I hear in everyday life.

Diálogo #12 - Direcciones

Yo: ¿Cómo te vas normalmente al trabajo? (¿Cómo se va….)

X: Usualmente me voy al trabajo en metro (subte), pero si llueve prefiero irme en auto.

Yo: ¿Qué medio de transporte utilizas para ir al mall? (¿qué…utiliza para ir….)

X: El mall queda lejos de mi casa, así que siempre voy en auto.

Yo: ¿Cómo se llega desde tu casa al centro de la ciudad utilizando el transporte público?
(cómo se llega desde su casa?)

X: Desde mi casa al centro de la ciudad utilizamos (utiliza) el metro.

Diálogo 2

Yo: Disculpe. ¿Podría decirme si hay algún supermercado por aquí? (o …una supermercado...)

X: No, tiene que tomar una micro hasta Calle Esparteros, ahí hay 2 supermercados.

Yo: Muchas gracias.

Diálogo 3

Yo: Hola ¿me puede decir cómo llego al metro? por favor.

X: Sí, tome una micro que baje por Barcelona hasta Cádiz. Ahí se baja y toma el metro en la estación Plaza Puerte del Sol. También, puede tomar la Co6 que la deja en la estación Arenal.

Yo: Bien, muchas gracias por su ayuda. Hasta luego.

Hola, katydew,

Thanks a lot for sharing your class dialogues with us. They are very useful! However, I can only understand 80% of it because there are still some new words for me. If you can add its English translation or list the meaning of some key words, that would be much better. For example, in dialogue 3, I don't know what "una micro que baje" and "se baja" mean in the following sentence: "Sí, tome una micro que baje por Barcelona hasta Cádiz. Ahí se baja y toma el metro en la estación Plaza Puerte del Sol."

Take a mini bus that goes along Barcelona to Cadiz. There get off and take the metro ....... - ian-hill, Mar 15, 2014

Este diálogo ha sido muy informativo. Es importante ser buen informado sobre los direcciones y como darlos y recibirlos. En la vida actual, es importantísimo entenderlos. Por ejemplo, para los que están de vacacciones, es la diferencia entre un viaje bueno y uno malo para el hombre perdido. Gracias para usted, katydew, de todos los usuarios mexicanos a quienes se están cansados de los turistas perdidas !
