Practice trying to not be too literal # 13
As my title says, I am trying to learn to not be literal in translations, so every day I will post a saying in English and ask for suggestions as to how to convey the thought in Spanish. At the end of the day, I will pick the answer that I think most accurately reflects the idea, and I will choose it as best answer for 20 points to the respondent.
I got a new job, so I will have to start posting these in the evenings now. Please stick with me! I hope others will join in too.
Today's phrase is, "On the lam"
Good luck!

How about, "They're on the lam" Ellos pusieron en fuga. I like "fuga" becuase it has the right connotations in English for "fugitive". Would that work?
