How is "con" used in this context?

Context: The SD dictionary uses the following:
Con la empresa se convirtió en millonario.
The company made him a millionaire.
I'm not sure I understand the use of "con". Any ideas or suggestions?
Does it have something to do with the following idea or concept?
With (con) the company he was able to become a millionaire?
Note: The verb in Spanish that I'm studying is "convertirse en".

I think that is the only reasonable interpretation. "With the company...", in other words, by means of the company...
