Today write sentences with "carry through"

Question

Hello everyone. I think phrasal verbs are some of the most difficult to many English learners because most of them do not have a literal translation. So I have decided to learn one or two phrasal verbs every day.

I know you can help me with that, but you also need to learn Spanish, so please write the sentence in English using the PV then try it in Spanish. Then I will correct your sentence (the Spanish sentence, of course); we will help each other out.

If you´re not sure about how to translate your sentence, just explain (in English) what your Pv means and I will help with your translation.

I guess "carry through" in this sentence means "to last", if so.Then the sentence is correct. - luisssito, Jul 1, 2012

To carry through means to bring to completion.

Él quería comprar un cachorro, pero su padre había dicho ¡ "No"! Sin embargo, el joven hijo puso en práctica sus planes de tomar el dinero del jarro.

He wanted to buy a puppy but his father had said, "No"! Nevertheless, the young son carried through his plans to take the money from the change jar.

From SD dictionary - carry through - sostener; vencer dificultades, llevar a cabo o a buen término, ejecutar (bring to completion); realizar (reform); poner en práctica (idea).
