I found this sentence in an article in El Mundo

I can´t find the word "trantán" in the dictionary.

I googled. Apparently it means "to play slow" or "to play it safe". I still could not find "trantán". - Noetol, Jun 24, 2012
No, I couldn't either, it was an ispired guess really. - annierats, Jun 25, 2012

Good question! I have found multiple uses of this word on the internet, but can't find a definition anywhere. From context, it seems to mean something like "they try", but that is just a guess.

Noetol- "They try" would be "tratan". When I looked at it that's what popped into my mind as well. - BradyLabuda, Jun 24, 2012
