song translation help
Hi, I heard this song on a Spanish tv programme and I understand most of it but the first few lines I dont really get.
"Te juro que intenté avisar que llegaría tarde. Por más que intento explicar no dejas de agobiarme."
I think its something like: I tried to let you know you that she/he would come late. However much I try to explain..... then I don't understand the last bit. "Dejar de" is to "to stop doing sth" is that what is meant here? And "agobiarme" as well? Thanks in advance.

Not a literal translation,
Te juro que intenté avisar que llegaría tarde. Por más que intento explicar no dejas de agobiarme.
I swear I tried to let you that I would be late. As much as I tried to let you know you won't stop going on about it/having a go at me.
agobiar verbo transitivo (abrumar) [problemas/responsabilidad] to weigh o get down; [calor] to oppress, get down; te agobia con tanta amabilidad she smothers you with kindness; este niño me agobia this child is too much for me agobiarse (esp Esp fam) to get uptight (colloq)
I would say:
I swear I tried to let you know that I would be late/arrive late. As much as I try to explain you won't stop bothering me/harassing me/overwhelming me.
