expresar (ek-spreh-sar')

verb ( to express; to show )

Caefuego is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Please correct your posts according to Caefuego's suggestions.

Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. Then the Word of the Day winner will be chosen.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Have fun experimenting with Spanish.

Examples:

1. Cantar es una manera de expresarse.

Singing is a way of expressing yourself.

2. Ella expresó su ira al enterarse que su marido le había sido infiel.

She expressed her anger on finding out that her husband had been unfaithful.

If you want to express your love and loyalty to your parents ,do it while they are alive ;so that when they are not in this world ,you don´t feel regrets.

Si quieres expresar tu cariño y lealtad hacia tus padres ,hazlo mientras estén vivos; para que cuando no estén en este mundo no sientas remordimientos.

A veces la gente no sabe cómo expresar lo que siente así que llora.

Sometimes people don't know how to express what they feel so they cry.

Necesito y deseo alguna libertad para expresar mi estilo personal en mis propias creacCiones y por eso no me gustan pedidos demasiado estrictos.

I need and I wish some freedom to express my personal style in my own creaCtions and that is why I do not like overly strict orders.

When you call someone who is late on the meeting or the date, isn´t it sweeter to tell him: " You are late. Are you all right?", instead of being angry? There are so many different ways to express yourself. Why not to chose the nicer one?

Cuando llamas a alguien que está retrasado en la reunión o la cita, no es más dulce decirle: ""Estás atrasado. ¿Te encuentras bien?", en vez de estar enojada? Hay tantas maneras distintas para expresarse. ¿Por qué no escoger la mejor?

Expresar tu sentimientos ,sí , pero no poner en un espectáculo de Broadway.

Corrected sentence,- pero no montar un expectáculo de Broadway.

Yes, express your feelings , but do not put on a Broadway show.
