Le gusta las abejas.Su animales domestico.I think it means Do you like the bees. Are they your pets? Please let me know if this is correct.I enjoy speaking with him en español.So I have been trying to come back and translate what I don't understand.Thankfully he thinks it's cool that I want to speak in spanish with him.Any input would be appreciated.Thank you.smile

Hey, Bean...welcome to the forum!

¿Le gustan las abejas? ¿Son sus animales domesticos?

Do you like bees? Are they your pets (domestic animals "mascotas")?

Le gusta las abejas.Su animales domestico.

mexican friend of mine

If he is your friend, why not use the informal indirect object of "te"? Also, it is "las abejas" (plural), so we need to use gustan. Don't forget proper punctuation for a question, too.

¿Le gustan las abejas?

Are they your pets?

We'll need a verb here. Also, why not be more informal since he is your friend? Animales looks perfect, but "doméstico" is an adjective and needs to agree with animales in number. That being said, domésticos (notice the accent) is necessary, not doméstico. Once again, we'll need question marks.

¿Son tus animales domésticos?

It would have been "le gustan" because "gustan"="they are pleasing" and "le"="to you". As far as pets go, type "pet" into the translator above. It will give you some good ideas about what you heard from you friend.

The way you have it written, it translates to pretty much:

"I like your bees, your pets."

I don't know your friend added an interrogative tone to the second part. If he did, then your translation is correct. I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck!

If you wanted to get a bit more technical, you would need a verb in the second part.

Are they your pets --> ¿Son tus animales domésticos?
