Mundito - is it a word actually used or made up outside of hispanic culture?
Mundito - it's been used for a foundation that wants to help the world, see the world as small / one family. But has this been used in actual latino cultures? Or just made up by people outside of latino culture?
I was trying to come up with a word for my daycare / preschool / after school programs - we are going for two way bilingual but I'm not the fluent Spanish one. I have "Escuelita" for that - but we have a bigger vision of a worldwide effort for schools that are two way bilingual with many different languages - so we want a different word for the overall organization - I was thinking of "Mundito" but I dont know if its already a word that's used anywhere.

Mundito is a term which means "little world". In Spanish, you can take almost any noun and make it little and cutesy by adding "ito" or "ita". Caballo=horse; caballito=horsey. Perro=dog; perrito=puppy or doggy.
As far as using "Mundito" for your daycare, I have never heard of it, but you might want to check with a lawfirm. Or you could just add an adjective to prevent any legal junk. "El Mundito Maravilloso" or "The Amazing Little World". (Just an example)
Good Luck!
