In English we say "to become" or "to get".

He became a teacher after many years of study.
Don't get angry with me!

In Spanish there are multiple ways of using these English verbs.

This challenge will use various conjugations of "ponerse" + adjective.

-- You are to put the words in order to create a valid sentence.

-- Write the answer as a complete Spanish sentence.

-- Translate that Spanish sentence and write the English sentence.

Hints: adjective + de + infinitive
Remember how plurals are formed

-- 1 Cuando / me pongo / de mi,/ se ríen/ rojo.

-- 2 cuando / español. / se / intenta / pone / frustrado / hablar / Kieran

-- 3 Los / se / su / quietos / siempre / ponen / que / canta / abuelita. / bebes

-- 4 nos / puso / muy / se / serio / y / Entonces / la / verdad. / contó

-- 5 se / madre / puso / de / tenerlo / en / Su / casa. / feliz

-- 6 enfermo. / de / comer / me / Después/ puse

-- 7 de / dejan / Cuando / cielo / oscuro / se / el / pone / las / mariposas / volar.

-- 8 Si / a / que / nos / llora / nosotros / ponemos / tristes / observamos / también. / alguien

-- 9 está / muy / Se / fastidiosa. / poniendo

Great work Castor - perfect actually je je - the 'nosotros' in No 8 is optional - I probably included it for stress but you wouldn't need it. And the English translation for number nine is 'annoying' ;) Well done! - Kiwi-Girl, Jun 12, 2012
Thanks. - Castor77, Jun 12, 2012

Good try Annie, make sure you think of what the translation is - looking at number one - do you think the way you have it - 'When I get red they laugh at me.' is the likely translation? Possible I guess, je je but would it be more likely that it says - - Kiwi-Girl, Jun 12, 2012
When they laugh at me I go (become) red. ;) No 3 is good you just have an extra se floating around in there je je. Same dilemma with 7 - an extra se. 8 is good - the 'nosotros' is an extra, i must have put it in there for stress :) - Kiwi-Girl, Jun 12, 2012
Hola Annierats! I hope you enjoyed doing this! Thanks for your participation! - bandit51jd, Jun 13, 2012
