Practice: "Should Olympic Athletes be banned for questionable actions?
Do you think that these men should be banned from swimming at the
"London Olympics " this year ? It is not the first foolish action that
these guys have undertaken , but that has no bearing on this case .
Do you think that our "Olympians " should be of exemplary character ?
After all they are the " images" of our respective countries , and perhaps
we are all judged by the actions of a few .
Bob Katter says Australia's "thought police have gone too far" in pillorying our Olympic swimmers for being pictured with legal firearms.
Mr Katter, the member for Kennedy, stepped in to defend controversial Sunshine Coast swimmer Nick D'Arcy saying political correctness has gone too far when men have to "apologise for being men", reports The North West Star.
Mr Katter took aim at the "thought police" for the criticism of D'Arcy and fellow Olympian Kenrick Monk, after the pair were criticised when Monk posted a photo on Facebook of the pair branding firearms in a United States gun shop.

Well, I look at it this way, if the Olympic committee and anyone else thinks that this particular photo is depicting bad behavior, then they should ban all firearm sports from Olympic events. No more shooting events at all!
Ban the tri sports!
Ban skeet shooting while you are at it.
Heck why don't we ban swimming? Some of those guys look ridiculous in their speedos and someone might take an innaproriate photograph!
I don't think that these guys are behaving badly. It's not as though they are holding up a confederate flag.

I personally believe that we have had enough making excuses for men behaving badly.
At least some men should be able to demonstrate integrity, good judgement and decency. This is what true leadership is all about.
I don't know what the Olympic committee's position is on olympiad behavior, but I would support them being explicit about expected behavior and then holding the athletes to that standard. If there is not an explicit behavior articulated, then it is inappropriate to discipline these men. Having no expectations articulated, people will generally sink to the lowest common denominator.

There is a strong point here, if one photograph is unacceptable , then why is
the other not of equal value ? I would like your opinions on this vexing issue .
