Can someone please help me try to understand this sentence and how does it work?

The sentence is: "Nadie te va amar como yo"

My friend said it means something like, "Nobody is going to love you like me" .. but I don't understand how it translates.

nadie - "nobody"

te - "you" direct object pronoun (always go before the conjugated verb or could be attached to the infinitive "te va a amar OR va a amarte")

va (a) amar - "is going to love"

como - "as, like" (cómo - "how" como - "as, like")

yo - "I" Nobody will love you like I love you....

Thank you, but how did you know that the "a" was there? Do you just remove it because of the "a" in "(a)mar"? - xktrvfs, Jun 9, 2012
"A" should always be inserted between the "ir" verb (va) and whatever infinitive. - Malenor, Jun 9, 2012
