I heard the term used on a TV newscast "Oro Masciso" It was pronounced "Ma-See-So". I can not seem to find the word in the translator. Can anyone tell me the correct spelling and meaning?

"Macizo" - Ma - ci - zo.

It means "solid", "robust"... In this case, "oro macizo" means that your gold isn't mixed with other metals. It's pure gold, 100% gold.
