Literally: Then, put me a kilo.
But it means: Then give me a kilo (of the oranges)

"Poner" is "to put." In this senario, what is really being said is "Then give me 1 kilo" with the reasoning that the seller is putting 1 kilo of oranges into a bag, a box, etc to give to the buyer.
The question should be "¿A cómo son las naranjas?" or "¿Cuánto son las naranjas?"
