"Sacarle el jugo"?

Question

Hi, I was watching an interview with the celebrity Zoe Saldaña, and she says a phrase that's understandable, but I wanted to be sure what it meant.

This is what she says:

"...por lo tanto, me gusta sacarle el jugo a todas las cositas que me componen a mi." So, I can understand what she's saying, but is there an exact meaning for "sacarle el jugo"?

Ok, she was talking about HER traits. Not "what she's given" to work with, but rather what she has to work with... what she's given, lol. She then says how she's always been a tomboy etc - sinsonte, Jun 3, 2012

Sacar el jugo means to take advantage of (not as in a bad way like bossiness, but as in to take advantage of an opportunity). Given that, maybe you can figure out what she was trying to say
