The pyramids are huge tombs for the ancient Egyptian pharoahs, preparing them to go to the afterlife. The tombs were filled with all kinds of treasures, such as gold, jewels, exquisite clothing, etc.(He who has the most treasures is still, nonetheless, dead!)

Ancient Egyptians worshipped cats, and had many other gods.
