I was wondering if you used this in spanish for to become would they understand you In every instance that we use become in English.

I saw a video, where a guy says there is more than a dozen different ways to say to become in Spanish and honestly that is intimidating. I mean is there one word acceptable to use in every instance like hacerse?

Example ¿Cuándo te hIciste católico? Michael Podria Llegar a ser una muy buena alumna Or even convirterse etc. just like 1-2 words. Plz help.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Sorry to say but there are many ways to say "to become," and "llegar a (ser) algo" (to become something) is just one of them.

Take a look at this:

Spanish has no single verb that you can use to translate "to become." Your choice of verb typically will depend on the nature of change that occurs, such as whether it's sudden or involuntary.

Yes. This has been my experience, as well. You "Become" used to it, after a while. ;) - PumpkinCalabaza, Jun 1, 2012
