Dear Silvia and Pablo, First of all, I want to thank you for the lovely bank you got me. This is my first ever piggy bank, and I can´t wait to go home and fill it with all my loose change. I am really going to miss you both. I enjoyed playing games with Pablo and helping Silvia with her English. Silvia, you can be my “pen pal,” which is a phrase we use for a person you keep in touch with through mail. You can write to me in Spanish or English, and both of you can send me pictures you´ve drawn or photos of yourselves. I will send you mail back as well! Pablo, good luck with your upcoming school year. This is a big change, going to a new school, especially one that teaches in English! Silvia will be there, too, so don´t be too scared. Silvia, keep up with your English and your artistic talent. When I was your age, I also loved drawing and doing crafts. Your current love for fashion can grow to a career as a designer! I am not a designer, but I do have a sewing machine and a mannequin to make my own Halloween costumes, and you can do that someday too. In a week you are both going to have a new baby sister. Take care of her like you do each other. In your letters to me, you can tell me what she is like and how it feels having a new sibling. We can also talk through Skype. I will miss you both very dearly, and I hope to visit again sometime soon.
Primero, quiero daros gracias por la bonita hucha que me habéis dado. Es mi primera hucha que he tenido, y tengo ganas de llenarla con todas las monedas que tengo. Os echaré de menos, de verdad. Me gustaba jugar con Pablo y ayudar a Silvia con su inglés. Silvia, puedes ser mi “pen pal,” que es una persona con quien mantienes en contacto por correo. Me puedes escribir en castellano o inglés, y vosotros dos me podéis mandar dibujos o fotos de vosotros. ¡Te responderé por correo, también! Pablo, buena suerte con el año escolar que viene. Ir a un cole nuevo es un cambio grande, ¡especialmente un cole que enseña en inglés! Silvia estará también, así no tengas tanto miedo. Silvia, mantiene tu inglés y tu talento artístico. Cuando tenía tu edad, también me gustaba dibujar y hacer artesanías. ¡Tu interés de la moda puede crecer a una carrera de diseñadora! No soy diseñadora, pero tengo una máquina de coser y un modelo de maniquí para hacer disfraces de Halloween, y también tú puedes hacerlo un día, también. Dentro de una semana, tendréis una hermanita nueva. Cuidadle como os cuidáis. En vuestras cartas que me mandarais, me puedes escribir como es y cómo se siente tener una hermana nueva. También podemos hablar por Skype. Os echaré de menos muchísimo, y espero que puedo visitaros pronto.
