'Well done! "Padres" is plural and masculine, so its indefinite article will also be singular and masculine: "unos." '

This is the answer I got when practicing indefinite articles. It seems to contradict itself. Is it just a "typo" or am I not understanding it? Help!!!

If this is on the practice questions for one of the SD quizes, it needs to be reported to feedback. - katydew, May 26, 2012

It's a typo.

The article matches the noun to which it' attached. For example, "padre" (father or parent) would be "un padre" (a father or a parent), and "padres" will be "unos padres." It could also be "el padre" or "los padres."

The point is: articles will match the noun in both number and gender, like adjectives.
