That's subjective. I mean, I don't get it. I wouldn't necessarily say it's "popular" ...but many people speak it. What are you asking?

Spanish is the third most common language on Earth. Mandarin is first, followed by English, then Spanish. Spanish is spoken by an estimated 415 million people in over 23 countries around the world (facts I read on a free spanish app I have on my iPod)!

It is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Even in the USA and Brazil, it can be useful.
