Hey everyone,

I really enjoyed everyone's entries to the A-Z vocabulary game, so I thought we could all go on to the next round. This time it's about conjugation. I know, this is something we all struggle every now and then, and it needs extra practice.

The Rules:

  1. Give a verb and tell the tense and mode you want the next person to put it in.
  2. Take the verb and its instructions from the entry posted before yours and write down the correct form for each personal pronoun.

It's as easy as this! Let's see how creative and widespread your choices are!

Make sure to click on "newest" before posting!

(and do not forget to appreciate everyone's effort by clicking the vote smile thank you!)

Please don't hesitate to correct each other - we're all here to study and improve our Spanish! And - most important of all - have fun! smile

Very good idea. I have terrible trouble... - annierats, May 23, 2012
thanks! well, then go on you will hopefully have endless opportunities to practice all the tenses with a lot of different verbs here :) - Machri, May 23, 2012
Good!! I think this is the aspect most learners have issues with, sometimes I wish conjugation was simpler - diagonx, May 23, 2012
thanks, diagonx. Just keep on conjugating with us here, I think it's a really good practice (if no one cheats with the conjugation help on the side ;) ) - Machri, May 24, 2012

there is a "t" missing in your last "puesto" :) - Machri, May 23, 2012
lol, thanks - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
the trick is to do it yourself and thereby REALLY practice to conjugate. Everyone can use the wizard or some online site but that won't help you at all in "real life" - Machri, May 23, 2012
Of course it will help you in "real life" - lol ...it's not that you're wrong... it's just that...... lol... I mean, that's what the conjugation tool is for. - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
"irl" Spanish is 'spoken' - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
Wasn't trying to be 'curt' about it. Nice game. Adiós - sinsonte, May 23, 2012

Well... the pluperfect (as it's called in English) isn't the indicative (indicativo) - Saying pluperfect is enough. It's only one pluperfect - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
I suppose it is indicative, but... yea - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
thanks for mentioning - Machri, May 23, 2012
as far as I learned, there are 3 types (modes), indicativo, subjuntivo and imperativo. And there is a difference between the pluscuamperfecto in the "indicativo" mode to the one in "subjuntivo" mode. - Machri, May 23, 2012
....pluscuamperfecto indicativo is build with "había - habías - había -etc" whereas pluscuamperfecto subjuntivo is build with "haya - hayas - haya - etc". Am I wrong? - Machri, May 23, 2012
Yes, you are wrong. - sinsonte, May 23, 2012
Try starting with : Hice , hiciste, hizo.. - annierats, May 23, 2012
I mean for the preterite! grr. - annierats, May 23, 2012
Annierats: I was confused which pretérito you meant - indefinido, perfecto or anterior therefore I just went with what I thought would be ok... - Machri, May 24, 2012
sinsonite: No I'm not wrong, I checked it: "pluscuamperfecto indicativo" is what you would call Past perfect in English, built with "había etc"., and "pluscuamperfecto subjuntivo" is the past perfect subjunctive form, built with "hubiera" etc.! - Machri, May 24, 2012
sorry Machri, clearly different definitions exist.. Useful game, whatever. - annierats, May 24, 2012

I think this is a good game. Verbs are the backbone of the grammar, or the heavy artillery. One who masters the conjugation, masters a major part of the language

Present Subjunctive for reír ría rías ría riamos riais rían

hacer: future, indicativ

Miliard, I think you were a bit too late because annierats already came up with the solution to "02. reír". Wouldn't you like to go ahead with conjugating "03. hacer" and then give another verb? And if you use the numbers, no one gets confused...thanks! - Machri, May 23, 2012
I missed this one again - miliard, May 23, 2012
Try hacer again, Preterite! - annierats, May 23, 2012

MILIARD, for the third time: I BEG YOU to 1) check the latest addition fbefore posting an answer 2) give complete answers (there's always the 2nd person plural missing!) 3) to go ahead with counting the numbers & 4) to keep up with the verbs given! - Machri, May 26, 2012
how come you say there's no form for "yo"?!?! - Machri, May 26, 2012
Answer: 1)last request was limpiar: 26 2) There are no forms for yo in imperative! 3 It happened that I posted in the same time as somebody else and that caused the confusion - it was not on purpose 4 I keep up with the verbs - miliard, May 26, 2012
Check any verb conjugation in imperative. We can ask native speakers about the yo form. - miliard, May 26, 2012
yes, the verb was limpiar, that's why I'm confused about your entry before this one that comes up with "disfrutar". Yes there is no you form for imperative, yet all your other entries had missing verb forms in it... - Machri, May 26, 2012
I double checked and there is none missing. - miliard, May 26, 2012
I will not post until you withdraw what you said about the missing entries. If you are fair in your comments I will post again. - miliard, May 27, 2012
