Speaking with fluency
I am from Brazil, but i am living in the USA, and i am learning Spanish. I would like to speak as in a form of dialogue. I mean i need to improve my speaking practice, right now i am kind of speaking sentences by sentences, it is not a fluently conversation, it is just a "robot". So what should i try to do? I am finish the Learning spanish 1, and i also have some books with grammar, and some other cds.
Thanks, Renata

I think everyone here has some great ideas. I like to read and listen to loads of Spanish-language materials, like the radio, news videos, books on tape, books (best if they are not translations, but rather originally written in Spanish), watch TV shows, etc. These media tools have really helped me learn new phrases, words, and expressions.
Also it is very helpful to talk to native Spanish speakers, because when you do, if you need help they can help you and then you are integrating pronunciation, thinking and forming sentences in Spanish, as well as listening comprehension all at the same time. If you don't know anyone who speaks Spanish, for the time being you can always talk to yourself, as senoritasammy suggested, or you could, as missy8888 mentioned, make a YouTube channel of clips of you talking. Just I would make sure that the people who watch them are really a) native speakers and b) educated native speakers, because you want to learn good grammar and all that. When you're really fluent you can learn which rules to break.
Hope this helps!!! ![]()
You know what I bet would work? You could try making a Youtube channel where you post videos of you describing your day or different topics. Then the commenters could help you correct yourself!
That way, you are practicing speaking candidly!
It's very simple. Speak. The only way you can truly learn a language and become fluent is to verbally communicate with others who speak spanish or just practice speaking to yourself (but just don't answer yourself otherwise you'll be considered crazy lol). To learn how to write properly in spanish, you need to buy spanish magazines and bilingual books... and constantly write!
Since you already have portugese,I would say listen to those around you, the languages are so very similar. You have a great advantage.
Hola Renata
I would continue with the lessons on here and also the Spanish Grammar.
I listen to music and watch TV programs as well. It takes time, but keep at it. We have native Spanish speakers on here that will be glad to help you and can suggest things that you can do to help improve your speaking abilities.
Let's see what other suggestions you get on here.
