Classical Music?

Classical Music?

Hey everyone,

I'm not part of the generation that grew up with classical music (well, most of us didn't, right?) but there have always been some songs I really loved.

My favorite is Symphony No.7 in A, Op.92 - 2. Allegretto by Beethoven, it is used in many movies because it's so dramatic and it really gives you goose bumps.

What about you? Are you also listening to classical music sometimes? Tell me! smile

Welcome Machri. It really does not matter whether you were brought up listening to music from the

classical era or not, the important thing is to have an appreciation of music, and to

listen and learn all that you can . You obviously have a good ear for music because

the piece that you have chosen is vey beautiful even though it has been used a

thousand times as theme music in many films and TV shows . I love all music ,

especially Opera, but also have a penchant for Mahler and Wagner , but equally I can

spend hours listening to Shakira, the Beatles or the Gypsy Kings. It depends on my mood

as to where music can take me when I am alone and pensive.

I love all kinds of music, one that puts me in a happy place though is Vivaldi Four Seasons!

Hey Ray, thanks lots, that's a very precise answer and I'm flattered. In my mind, classical music is fascinating, because some pieces are from times centuries ago and still people fall in love with them. Just as you said, I think it's a pity so many great songs get used from the movie industry but on the other hand, this is a way to bring great classical songs to an audience that usually wouldn't listen to it....

Hey, methinks soundtracks are in many cases the only good thing of a film, with so many lousy stuff making the big screen now, it's just normal good music comes with it, I hope not to see the day when they use Britny Spears for soundtracks - diagonx, May 17, 2012
But that's just my opinion - diagonx, May 17, 2012
that's a good opinion in my mind - Machri, May 17, 2012
