I am confused. If Elisa was in a volleyball game on Thursday, wouldn't you be talking about how she was on Friday (after the game) or are you talking about resting up for the game on Wednesday, which is the day before the game?

Elisa participó en partido de voleibol el jueves. Por eso se descansaba el miércoles.
