¡Hola!
I am translating some help files for an english program into spanish, and I'm running into some tricksy things (slang words) that are difficult to translate into spanish (because they are either computer terms, or machinist terms). Currently, I'm trying to translate: ...is a required field when performing optional pass/fail dimensions... but I'm not sure how to translate "field" into spanish properly. The meaning is something like a "field of information you must enter" . Any ideas? (thank you!)

"Campo" sirve, según la R.A.E (15th acception: m. Inform. En un registro, espacio usado para una categoría particular de datos. ).
