How you'd say cutre in english. In spanish is a mix of low, cheap, avaricious, ..but also dirty, old ..when it's about something. Crappy is close to, but not the same.

Cutre - according to this site, it means 'shabby' when talking about the quality of something, and 'stingy' when referring to a person.

or greedy... "money-grubbing" ..a Scrooge. Surely shabby (quality) and a Scrooge (person) are perfect fits. - sinsonte, May 12, 2012

That word is most common in Spain and has no single equivalent in English I can think of, you'd have to use different words for it when translating it

So...that's what I wanted, the different words I need to use when I want to say cutre. But I am happy with shabby, its sounds good for me! - alixi, May 21, 2012
